A chunky slab of Lewisian Gneiss hangs from a chunky 4mm Figaro chain.
Gneiss is a type of metamorphic rock, formed by the metamorphosis of granite or sedimentary rock and displays alternate layers of different minerals. This particular gneiss is from the Isle of Lewis in North-west Scotland and is among the oldest rocks in the UK!
Measurements: 39.1mm in length and 19.8mm at the widest point.
This necklace is finished with a toggle clasp that fastens at the front. It is 18" but can be made shorter if required - please leave a note with the purchase.
This piece has a full UK hallmark on the back to comply with legislation.
